Some residents in northern Forsyth County are pushing back against a proposed special events venue on Keith Bridge Road in the Chestatee area.
The original plans called for a 9,000-square-foot facility, with an amphitheater, helipad, and a large parking lot near existing neighborhoods.
After an online petition, yard signs, and packed public meetings, the developer says he’s scaled the project down, removing the helipad and amphitheater and shrinking the building and parking.
But even with those changes, many people who live in the area say it’s still not a good fit for their rural stretch of Georgia 306 and are worried about traffic, late-night noise, and what it could mean for future development along the corridor.
The proposal is now headed to the Forsyth County Planning Commission before it returns to the Board of Commissioners for a final decision.
