The heavily-traveled four-lane has been the scene of several high-profile accidents the past two or three months.
HABERSHAM CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:
“(This past weekend) the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division (HEAT/K9), along with the Georgia State Patrol, conducted a speed enforcement detail we call Sunday Slow Down. Deputies and Troopers saturated Ga 365 and Ga 15 from The Rabun County line to the Hall County line conducting speed enforcement.
During the 6 hour operation, The Sheriff’s Office (alone) made 58 contacts resulting in 36 speeding citations, 2 DUI arrests, 9 other citations and 11 warnings.
TOTAL numbers for (the) efforts on Ga 15/Ga 365 (Rabun, Habersham, Hall):
222 total contacts
95 speed citations
36 speed warnings
41 other traffic warnings
23 other citations
7 seatbelt citations
6 seatbelt warnings
2 child seat warnings

8 no proof of insurance warnings ( insurance confirmed before leaving)
2 DUI arrests
