“Our hearts and minds are with our brothers and sisters in Israel,” reads a Facebook posting by Rabbi Nechemia and Shaina Gurevitz. “The utter terror and shock (are) unimaginable. May Hashem protect the nation of Israel, especially our soldiers who are putting their lives on the line.”
A rally is planned for Tuesday, 6:00-7:00 p.m., at Chabad of Hall County “as a show of support” for Israel.

A Republican Georgia lawmaker traveling in Israel with his mother posted on social media that he was safe. Atlanta News First reports State Senator Russ Goodman, who represents District 8 in South Georgia, received many text messages from friends and family concerned about their well-being following Saturday’s surprise attack in Israel by Hamas militants.
Atlanta-based Delta Airlines canceled weekend flights to Tel Aviv, and those cancellations will stretch into this week. A spokesperson for Delta said the carrier will work with the United States government to assist with the safe return of any Americans who want to come home.
The American Jewish Committee is helping organize an event of solidarity at City Springs in Sandy Springs Tuesday night.
And Georgia’s first Jewish U.S. Senator, Jon Ossoff, condemned what he called an indiscriminate and murderous assault on our Israeli allies.
