*The Fulton County Elections Board has acknowledged an error in the 2020 presidential election, where approximately 315-thousand votes were certified without required signatures. Officials with the county insists they are not hiding anything while withholding documents from the state claiming financial constraints. Fox5 Atlanta reports the DOJ has filed a lawsuit against Fulton County, requesting all ballots related to the 2020 election, and a superior court judge has ruled that the county must comply with subpoenas from the state by January 7th. The county maintains that all voters were verified with photo ID and lawfully cast their ballots.
*Three officers in Augusta-Richmond County are being suspended for their actions following an arrest last week. Sheriff Eugene Brantley said Deputy Nicholas Boyd is suspended ten days for hitting the suspect twice after he resisted at the end of a chase, while Lieutenant Kyle Gould is suspended six days for sharing a photo that was taken from a body camera. Sergeant Eric McCants is suspended five days for reportedly sharing the photo with other officers. Sheriff Brantley said none of the officers’ actions were criminal, but they did not adhere to the standards established for the department.
*Columbus Police have arrested 17 people for allegedly stealing packages. Investigators set up decoy packages to lure and catch the porch pirates. WTVM reports the operations took place on three different days at various locations throughout Columbus after police received several reports from people whose packages were being stolen from their homes. Officers placed decoy packages, monitored activity, and made arrests when packages were taken during one of the busiest delivery periods of the year.
