*A Georgia high school football coach is accused of assaulting his players. The GBI says Darius Terrell Robinson was arrested for allegedly choking and hitting players over a span of a few months this fall. He was the head coach for Greene County High School until the district fired him upon the arrest. Robinson’s charges include aggravated assault and simple battery.
*Savannah police are trying to find the culprit behind a violent attack. Investigators say a woman was walking around Forsyth Park Wednesday night when a man tossed acid on her. The substance gave her serious burn injuries and melted her clothes. Mayor Van Johnson says Savannah Police are increasing patrols at all city parks out of caution.
*Some DeKalb County residents are demanding that the county vote to ban data centers in the county not just seek to regulate them. The AJC reports that about 150 people showed up at a county commission meeting Wednesday night in opposition to data centers. Commissioners said, however, that to outright ban them would open the county up to legal action by developers of the facilities.
*Firefighters in the City of Jackson say they successfully rescued a deer named Jackson from a deep retention pond at an apartment complex. They used rope rescue gear and a 70-foot ladder truck to secure the deer in a basket. Fox5 Atlanta reports the operation was treated like a human rescue, providing valuable real-world training for the fire department. The deer, which had been fed by neighbors, will be relocated to Paulding County.
