Chad Irwin Corbin, 48, of Gainesville, was arrested last week after authorities say he ran a red light and almost struck a Hall County sheriff’s deputy’s patrol vehicle.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO)
“The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday…at the intersection of West Ridge Road and Queen City Parkway.
The deputy was attempting to make a right turn from West Ridge onto Queen City Parkway when he observed Mr. Corbin run the red light, weave in between two vehicles making left turns at the intersection and then nearly plow into the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.
Mr. Corbin continued traveling west on Queen City Parkway as the deputy activated his emergency lights and siren to make a traffic stop. Mr. Corbin continued to drive erratically, slowing at times to 35 mph and then accelerating to 54 mph, with the deputy following. Mr. Corbin eventually pulled into the parking lot of the QT convenience store at Queen City Parkway and Jesse Jewell Parkway.
After interviewing Mr. Corbin at the scene, the deputy charged him with obedience to required traffic control devices (running the red light), reckless driving, speeding and fleeing/attempting to elude.”
Bond was set at $7,260.
