‘Improper use of horn’ among charges facing Gville woman following late-night disturbance

Hall County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gainesville woman following a late-night disturbance on Floyd Road Wednesday. Janisha Ruth Lipscomb, 30, is facing seven charges including a little known one: improper use of horn.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Just after 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Floyd Road and located (Lipscomb) sitting in her vehicle in the driveway, honking the horn. Deputies instructed Ms. Lipscomb to exit the vehicle, and when she did so, deputies observed that she was stumbling and having difficulty maintaining her balance. Deputies determined Ms. Lipscomb had been drinking alcohol earlier in the evening and had driven to the residence from several blocks away.

During the investigation, deputies checked the license plate on Ms. Lipscomb’s vehicle and determined she had active warrants from the Gainesville Police Department. Subsequently, deputies searched Ms. Lipscomb’s vehicle and located a small bag of marijuana, rolling papers, a grinder, a homemade bong and a THC vape pen. They also found a fake Florida driver’s license in the vehicle.

As a result, HCSO deputies charged Ms. Lipscomb with the following offenses:

·         Improper use of horns/warning devices

·         DUI-alcohol

·         Seat belt violation

·         Possession of a false identification document

·         Possession and use of drug-related objects

·         Possession of marijuana (less than an ounce)

·         Possession of THC oil (felony)”
