DeKalb Schools vs. social media; 1,000 and counting; missing for 60 years

(GA. NEWS NETWORK)

*A lawsuit filed by DeKalb County Schools against social media companies is being allowed to go to court. The district argues that it has spent over four-million-dollars to support mental health personnel while trying to deal with addiction to apps, which is also causing disruptions in the classroom. Facebook, TikTok, Snap and Meta are among those being targeted in the case. A court date hasn’t been chosen.

*Flight cancellations are still piling up at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. FlightAware listed just over 230 flights that were canceled in Atlanta on Monday, which brings the total to more than 1,000 since Saturday.

*More than 80,000 American service members are still missing in action, including Paul Fitzgerald Junior, a soldier from middle Georgia who disappeared nearly 60 years ago during the Vietnam War. His family in Fort Valley continues to hold on to hope and memories of him. 13 WMAZ reports that despite receiving the last letter from Paul in 1967, his sisters have never given up hope of his return, and that they find solace in the POW-MIA flags raised across central Georgia, which serve as a reminder that Paul and others are not forgotten.
