It’s been 25 years; Another term for Dickens; MTJ vs. GOP

*Democrats are joining the Public Service Commission for the first time in 25 years. Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard handily won their races by over 20 points Tuesday. It also marked the first time a Democrat won a non-federal statewide race in a couple of decades. Around 900,000 people showed up to vote at Georgia precincts on Tuesday.  
 
*Andre Dickens is going to stay for another term as Atlanta’s mayor. Yesterday’s election was a blowout win for Dickens, who faced three other candidates. He previously told Channel Two that a win would be a positive referendum on his past term. Dickens plans to continue on the same trajectory the city is on now.

*Marjorie Taylor Greene is still going after her own party as the federal government shutdown continues. The northwest Georgia congresswoman appeared on ABC’s The View yesterday, criticizing House Speaker Mike Johnson for not calling the House back into session. Greene added that it disgusts her because the government has failed everyone. Today marks the 36th day of the shutdown.
