New fraud scheme; Help for vets?; Georgians ‘pony up’

*Thieves are targeting restaurants and their customers in a new scheme that involves fraudulent online orders using stolen credit card numbers. Aviva by Kameel, a beloved Atlanta business, lost nearly $1,000 from a single fraudulent order where the food was picked up in a building lobby. WSB-TV reports that customers are advised to regularly check their bank and credit card statements for suspicious activity to prevent becoming victims of similar scams  
 
*Georgia lawmakers are exploring ways to better support veterans in the state, with a focus on mental health resources, homelessness prevention, and career transitions. WJBF reports that State leaders are addressing the needs of the more than 700,000 veterans in Georgia, including providing access to mental health care, housing, and workforce opportunities.  

*Two prominent Georgia residents are among the people and organizations who are paying for President Trump’s new ballroom at the White House. Kelly Loeffler, and her husband, Jeff Sprecher, are two of nearly 40 individuals and companies paying the $300 million dollar bill for the project. Loeffler is the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and her husband is the founder and CEO of financial services company Intercontinental Exchange. Other donors include Apple, Comcast, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft among several others.
