*Johns Creek police are looking into a different-type scam. Investigators say a woman was fooled into giving up more than $47,000 recently. She said he was playing a crossword puzzle when a pop-up warned her about too much money in her account, so she transferred the funds into a bitcoin machine.
*More than $80,000 has been raised to help a Dalton student’s release from immigration jail. Ximenas Arias-Cristobal was arrested during a traffic stop this month, but the police department says now it was in error. The 19-year-old wasn’t born in the U.S., but she has lived here since she was four.
*It’s not just “dust to dust, ashes to ashes” in Georgia anymore. A new law will legalize human composting in Georgia. Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill this week that will allow funeral homes to make human composting facilities. More than a dozen other states have legalized human composting.
