*An ethics watchdog group is calling for an investigation into Georgia Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock (pictured) for allegedly failing to disclose free housing provided by Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust submitted a letter to the Senate Ethics Committee, claiming Warnock violated federal law and Senate ethics rules by not disclosing his living arrangement. The Washington Examiner reports Warnock reportedly moved into the church-owned home in 2023, living there rent-free after the church purchased it for $989,000. The complaint highlights the upscale features of the home and questions the legality of Warnock’s housing situation, as he also owns a home in Washington, D.C.
*Delta is investigating an engine problem that caused issues for an Atlanta-bound flight. The airline says a jet was on the tarmac at Orlando International Airport Monday when one of the engines caught fire, which caused an evacuation of the plane. There were no injuries.
*A Georgia state senate Democrat is entering the race for governor. Jason Esteves announced yesterday that he’s running for the Democratic ticket in a campaign launch video. Esteves was the chair of Atlanta’s school board before he won a state Senate seat a few years ago. Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has also been in the rumor mill for potential Democratic candidates.
*Anyone using airport parking decks at Hartsfield-Jackson International will soon see significant price increases. The domestic park-and-ride lots are jumping from $10-$15-dollars-a-day starting May 1. Those who wish to park at the ATL West deck will see prices nearly double to $30 daily.
