Another Jackson Co. school threat

For the second time in less than a month, there has been a school threat in Jackson County and another arrest.

“Parents, please talk to your children!” begins a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO which was issued Wednesday. 

“The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested an East Jackson High School juvenile off campus today for Terroristic Threats and Acts,” the release continues. “It appears to be an isolated incident and the follow up investigation continues… Again, we will continue to hold people accountable for these types of threats.”

The earlier threat occurred at the end of January.

EARLIER STORY. POSTED JAN. 27: The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following the investigation into a school-related threat at East Jackson Middle School. A juvenile suspect has been taken into custody and charged with one felony count of Terroristic Threats and Acts, Sheriff Kevin McCook announced Sunday. Although the investigation is ongoing, it appears to be isolated to the one individual. The suspect’s parents have been cooperative with law enforcement, McCook added.
