A Flowery Branch man who was arrested last fall on charges associated with the ongoing sexual assault of
a girl under the age of 10 is now a fugitive. Thanh Dat Nguyen, 25, was arrested October 12, 2023, on charges of aggravated sexual battery and child molestation.
The investigation determined the criminal assaults occurred several times between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2021. Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators became aware of the crimes in early 2023 when the victim disclosed the assaults to someone at her school.
Nguyen and the victim were known to one another.
Wednesday, sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said it appears he was released from jail on Nov. 3, 2023, on a bond of $28,100. “A failure to appear warrant was issued by Hall County Superior Court on Nov. 6, 2024.”
Nguyen is among five fugitives listed on the latest edition of the sheriff’s office’s Wanted Wednesday poster which is featured elsewhere on this site.
