The Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission (GAMCC) will bring its patient listening tour to Gainesville this week.
The commission will be at Lanier Tech at 1:30 Thursday. It’s the final stop on a swing around the state that has already taken it to Valdosta, Statesboro, Macon, and Kennesaw.
Who should attend?
“Individuals who are interested in or participate in the medical cannabis program, especially patients, caregivers and health professionals,” according to the GAMCC website. Anyone wishing to speak at the session can sign up when they arrive.
The purpose of the listening tour is to is to gather input on how to improve the medical cannabis program, include qualifying medical conditions, availability of products and service to patients.
“We’re inviting key stakeholders and agency partners to join the Commission to hear from
Georgia patients,” said Sid Johnson, Chair of the Commission. “The Georgia Department
of Public Health, Georgia Board of Pharmacy, and Georgia Composite Medical Board
have important roles in Georgia’s medical cannabis program, especially providing service
to patients. The Commission appreciates the support of the colleges and universities welcoming the Commission to host the listening tour sessions on their campuses.”
