A metro Atlanta man is in the White County Jail, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine following a recent traffic stop.
“On Monday, August 26, 2024, at approximately 9:00pm, a White County Sheriff’s Office Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 115 West near Long Mountain Road for an obstructed tag and window tint,” Sheriff Rick Kelley wrote in a news release. “During the traffic stop, K-9 Jelly was deployed and conducted an open-air sniff.”
Sheriff Kelley said as a result, the K-9 “alerted” on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted during which 1.88 pounds of meth was discovered.
As a result, William Ausbrooks, 59, Stone Mountain was placed under arrest.
