Two jailed on drug trafficking charges

 A Gillsville man remains in the Hall County Jail without bond following his recent arrest on drug trafficking charges that are the result of a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigation.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Warrant Service Unit deputies arrested Olaffia J. Matthew Hester, 38, on six drug-related charges Friday afternoon, Aug. 23, in the 800 block of West Ridge Road.

  • Trafficking fentanyl (felony)
  • Possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute (felony)
  • Trafficking methamphetamine (felony)
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute (felony)
  • Possession of cocaine (felony)
  • Possession of marijuana (misdemeanor)

The investigation began on the afternoon of Aug. 16 when deputies stopped an SUV for no license plate around Ga. 323/Gillsville Highway and Harmony Church Road. Deputies arrested the driver, Arianne Kristen White, 31, of Lilburn, on an outstanding warrant from another agency. Hester, a passenger in the SUV, was released when his ride arrived.

Deputies inventoried the vehicle prior to towing and located approximately 0.6 grams of methamphetamine and two glass smoking pipes in White’s belongings. They charged White with possession of methamphetamine (felony) and possession of drug-related objects (misdemeanor).

While continuing the inventory, deputies found approximately 13 grams of fentanyl, nearly 60 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine, roughly one gram of crack cocaine and less than one ounce of marijuana. The drugs, worth an estimated $6,500 on the street, belonged to Hester, according to the SIU investigation.”
