A foundation has been formed in memory of and to honor the late Sandra Deal, a longtime Hall County educator and former first lady of Georgia.
According to the North Georgia Community Foundation, which administers the foundation, The Deal Foundation is “dedicated to fostering childhood literacy and continuing the impactful work of (Gov. Nathan Deal’s) beloved wife, Sandra Deal.” Childhood literacy was a passion of Mrs. Deal’s.
Gov. Deal has also written a book, “Vent: The Governor’s Cat,” as a tribute to his wife’s “legacy of literacy.”
