New judge nominated for federal court serving Gville

President Biden has nominated Tiffany Rene Johnson to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Johnson has been an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia since 2017. That district includes not only Gainesville but also Atlanta, Rome and Newnan.

She will replace Judge Steve C. Jones, who was appointed to the bench by former President Barack Obama and has worked as an active district judge for 13 years. He announced his plans to seek Senior Judge status earlier this year.
