MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Billboards are springing up around Gainesville as the search continues for Maria Gomez-Perez.
In addition, more and more people are commenting on the Facebook page set up by her friends and family – some in faraway parts of the country. Others closer to home, such as Tallahassee, Florida, where one person noted that an article about the 12-year-old had appeared on a “community page” there.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED WEDNESAY AFTERNOON:
. An anonymous businessperson has contributed $10,000 to the reward fund for the safe return of 12-year-old Maria Perez-Gomez, who has been missing from her west Gainesville home since May 29. This brings the reward total to $30,000.
“As investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies push
forward in efforts to locate Maria, I am again thankful for another outpouring of support with the
extra reward funding,” Sheriff Gerald Couch said. “Someone in the community has that single clue or
piece of information that could lead to Maria. I pray this increased reward is encouragement for
them to come forward.”
The sheriff’s office continues to urge anyone with information on Maria’s disappearance to call
(770) 503-3232 or email [email protected]. Individuals with tips may also call 911 or
Hall County 911/Central Communications at (770) 536-8812. Those offering tips can remain
anonymous.
