Hall County has begun taken bids for the realignment of White Sulphur Road, a project directly related to construction of the inland port in that part of the county.
Bids will be received until July 11 at the county government center when they will be “opened and read,” according to the Georgia Procurement Registry. Georgia Procurement Registry (state.ga.us)
The nearly one-mile project begins on White Sulphur about half-a-mile north of its intersection with Ramsey Road, ending near the now-under-construction Blue Ridge Connector Inland Port. It also includes the realignment of the existing White Sulphur Road to connect with Cagle Road and Big Oak Road.
Hall County approved the project, which will provide a direct link to the Port of Savannah by way of Norfolk Southern Railroad, in March. The Georgia Ports Authority will oversee its operation. It’s expected to become operational in 2026.
