It’s election day: Local info, key races statewide

Georgia’s General Election primaries are today.

As usual, polls statewide will open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for any number of federal, state, and local elections in the Democratic, Republican, and Non-Partisan primaries.

There are 16 local offices on the ballot in Hall County, though some are by-district and will not appear on every ballot and not all are contested.

The Republican ballot also contains a number of non-binding questions.

In addition, Gainesville voters, in a non-partisan election, will be choosing a successor to longtime councilman and former mayor George Wangemann, who resigned late last year for medical reasons and died a few weeks later.
