97.5 Glory FM’s Mike Wofford was one of this year’s GABBY Award winners over the weekend at the Georgia Association of Broadcasters’ (GAB) annual convention, GABCON. Wofford was presented a GABBY for a sports program he has hosted for almost 30 years.
““I am very blessed and flattered to receive the GABBY award for the best sports program in a small market in Georgia,” Wofford said Monday. “’Game Plan’ has been an important part of our coverage of high school football for the past 28 seasons at WGTJ. High school football is why I got into broadcasting in 1978. I have seen a lot of games in 49 seasons and this award hopefully will show that even with the challenges that I face every day (not being able to see the games) that you can succeed.”
Wofford pointed out that every week he is able to talk to local coaches, preview the local games, and “make my predictions on who will win the games with what I call ‘Wofford’s Winners.’ I look forward to our next broadcast on Friday night.”
All of the awards focused on content produced in the 2025 calendar year.
