Gov. Brian Kemp has once again suspended Georgia’s 33.3 cents a gallon gas tax and the 37.3 cents a gallon tax on diesel.
The executive order suspending the taxes was effective at midnight Monday night and comes at a time when the statewide average price of a gallon of gas has topped $4.00 and diesel $6.00.
The suspension of the taxes is good through Oct. 19 and is the latest of several Kemp has imposed in recent months because of the continued increase in prices.
The executive order also suspends weight limits on commercial vehicles in an effort to reduce costs need to transport goods.
