Youngster cited for quick action when mom fell ill

A young Hall County boy was recently recognized for his quick response in getting help when his mother fell ill at their home.

“Young Ethan was home alone with his mom last month when she suffered a medical emergency and collapsed,” a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Facebook posting reads. “Ethan used FaceTime to contact his dad, who was out of town on a work trip. When his dad saw what was happening, he called emergency dispatch and HCSO…deputies and med units responded. When deputies arrived, Ethan was at the front door to flag them down and lead them to his mom. Thankfully, she has made a complete recovery.”

‘Ethan showed extreme calm in this situation, especially for someone his age,” said Deputy Dyana Dimas, who was one of the deputies who responded to the call. “We couldn’t believe how poised he was.”

(Recently) Deputy Dimas and Deputy Mack Garrison were attended an award presentation for Ethan at the Braselton Police Department (where his father works).
