Your pocketbook: Ga. ga$ tax $u$pended

Governor Brian Kemp today issued an executive order suspending Georgia’s gasoline tax for a month.

Kemp says he did so because of “the 40-year-high inflation and negative economic conditions felt by hardworking Georgians as a result of policies coming out of Washington, D.C.”

The state’s excise tax on motor and locomotive fuel is being suspended starting tomorrow and the suspension will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on October 12.

He added that this action should begin impacting prices after several days.
