We had been warned that it was possible – and, sure enough, much of north Georgia awakened Saturday morning to frosty conditions.
The new month brought with it the coldest weather of the season so far – with freezing fog and a temperature of 28 reported in Blairsville as late as 7:30. The low in Gainesville was 39 and it was still that, with a light frost in some places, as late as 8:00.
So, now what?
Nighttime lows of 41-46 in Gainesville and vicinity says the National Weather Service (NWS) in its 7-day outlook with highs in the 60s to near 70 and very little chance of rain.
