Woman whose car struck, killed roadside worker charged

The woman whose car struck and killed a roadside worker on I-985 earlier this week has been freed on bond after turning herself in at the Hall County Jail Thursday.

A spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Kelley Rebecca Shorts, 52, was freed on $16,960 bond early Friday morning.

She’s been charged with Homicide by Vehicle in the 2nd Degree, Following Too Closely, and Failure to Maintain Lane.
