Water service interruption and street closings for railroad crossing work are planned early next week and will affect several Gainesville streets.
The Gainesville Water Resources Department says the water interruption will affect city water customers on Skyview Drive, Skyview Place, Skyview Lane and at 1310 Dawsonville Highway. Plans call for the outage to begin at 8:00 Monday night and end at 5:00 Tuesday morning. The interruption in service is necessary, city officials say, to complete water main improvements in those areas.
The railroad track upgrades are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. each day. The work Tuesday is scheduled for the Georgia Avenue crossing while Wednesday’s will take place at the Hancock Avenue crossing.
