During the arrest of an Alto man this week on an outstanding warrant, Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies say they found reason to arrest him for something else, as well. They say they found James Bradley Ayers, 60, in possession of illegal drugs.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Warrant Service Unit deputies arrested…Ayers, 60, in the backyard of his residence in the 7000 block of Pless Road on Wednesday afternoon…
During arrest, Ayers had approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, three acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate pills and one oxycodone hydrochloride pill. He also had less than one ounce of marijuana. Deputies charged him with the following:
- Possession of methamphetamine (felony)
- Two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (misdemeanors)
- Possession of marijuana (misdemeanor)
Deputies were at Ayers’s residence serving his outstanding warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony). That charge stems from an early morning, Oct. 31, incident where Ayers accidentally shot himself in the leg at the home. Hall County Fire Rescue transported him to the hospital. Deputies recovered the handgun and obtained the warrant after learning Ayers was a convicted felon.
Ayers was booked into the Hall County Jail following his Wednesday arrest. He remains held without bond.”
