Wandering child safely returned home

For the third time in less than a month, a youngster has been found wandering a local road alone and safely returned home.

It was a boy whose age was not disclosed who was found early Tuesday on Bolding Road. Social media reports said sheriff’s deputies were knocking on doors asking people if they knew him.

“The child was quickly identified by a school resource officer, and deputies went to the (child’s home),” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman B.J. Willliams said. “The parent was asleep. The child was able to get out of the house and wander.” “

Williams added that the parent was interviewed, and the child returned to the parent’s custody. “There will be no arrest. ”

The earlier incidents occurred in Gainesville and city police did file charges. UPDATE: Mom of wandering 4-year-old remains in jail
