Nine cases of West Nile Fever have now been confirmed in Georgia up from six two weeks ago but the number in Hall County is unchanged at one. Two weeks before that there were only two statewide.
That’s according to data released Tuesday by the CDC. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The mosquito-borne disease has also been reported in Fulton (3 cases), DeKalb (2), Richmond, Cherokee, and Chatham counties – one each.
Nationwide, 39 states have confirmed human cases of West Nile, totaling 491 infections, including 342 instances of neuroinvasive disease, which affects the central nervous system.
