Victim of Lanier Electric Shock Drowning identified; how to prevent ESD

The young man who died from an electrical shock after jumping into Lake Lanier last week has been identified.

His mother tells the AJC and WSB-TV that Thomas “Shep” Milner had jumped into the water from the boat dock on their Forsyth County property many times during his lifetime and that it was a favorite summertime pastime of the 24-year-old.

Meanwhile, there is a national organization, the Electric Shock Drowning Prevention Association, which is devoted to educating the public of the dangers of swimming from such facilities that are connected to electricity.
