UPDATE: Three teenagers arrested during Flowery Branch manhunt

Three teenagers, including two juveniles, were arrested Friday after running from a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy during a traffic stop, touching off a brief manhunt in South Hall. Authorities say they jumped from their moving car in an attempt to escape.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Around 2:45 p.m. Friday…the deputy was conducting speed detection in the area of Spout Springs Road and Forest Knoll Drive when he observed a…car traveling at a high rate of speed in the westbound left lane of the roadway.

The deputy pulled behind the vehicle and activated his emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the Kia pulled into the right lane of travel and then into the parking lot of Light of the World Church. As the vehicle slowed, all three occupants jumped from the moving vehicle and ran.

The deputy gave chase on foot briefly, calling for backup units. Within 30 minutes, the three suspects were apprehended. An HCSO K9 team along with units from Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Public Safety MCCD (Motor Carrier Compliance Division), Flowery Branch Police Department and Oakwood Police Department were part of the response.

The deputy determined the Kia had been stolen Friday morning in Gainesville. The two passengers, one age 16 and the other age 17, were each charged with obstruction. The 17-year-old has been identified as Fhilip Andres Duran of Gainesville. The 16-year-olds each have Flowery Branch addresses.”
