UPDATE: Suspect in east Gainesville shooting ID’d

Police have a suspect in the shooting that happened Thursday night in east Gainesville, and say the victim was a teenager.

Gainesville Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Pablino Garcia, 21, of Gainesville. A 15-year-old remains in critical condition after the shooting at Wee Willy’s convenience store.

It is believed Garcia and others met at the store for an arranged “transaction,” but police Saturday night did not say what kind of transaction. “During the meeting shots were fired, striking the teen multiple times,” according to a news release.

Gainesville Police and the GBI have been working the case round the clock since Thursday, the release says. Police have charged Garcia with several counts of aggravated assault and are asking for assistance in locating Garcia.
