UPDATE: Stormy weather possibility

There is little change today from Wednesday evening’s update on the potential for severe thunderstorms in north Georgia.

The line of the second-most severe of the storms has been moved by forecasters through metro Atlanta, into Gwinnett County and closer to Gainesville. (Yellow in the accompanying map.)

“Hail and damaging winds are the primary expected hazards with any severe storms,” the Thursday morning advisory says. “Storms may develop between 2 PM and 2 AM, with the peak severe risk from 6 PM to 10 PM. Monitor the weather if you head out this evening!”
