UPDATE: One driver thrown from overturning vehicle on I-985

GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On Thursday, October 5, 2023, at approximately 4:36 PM, troopers from GSP-Gainesville responded to the area of I-985 NB, south of Exit 16 for SR 13 (Atlanta Hwy). 

The investigation showed a 2019 Jeep Wrangler was traveling south on I-985.  The Wrangler came upon a Kia Forte and a Volkswagen Jetta that were stopped in heavy traffic.  The driver of the Jeep, Wylena Robchaux, 42, of Conyers, followed too closely and struck the rear of the Kia and began to overturn.  The Kia then rotated and struck the rear of the Jetta with its rear. 

The driver of the Jeep was not restrained and was ejected. The driver of the Jeep was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Kia, Elizabeth Salvador-Munoz, 32, of Gainesville, had a complaint of injury but refused treatment on the scene.  The driver of the Jetta, Mary Ortiz, age 36 of Buford,  was not injured.”

Expect extreme delays on northbound side of 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝟵𝟴𝟱 in Hall County. All 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 by a traffic accident 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟭𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟳 (𝗚𝗮. 𝟱𝟯 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗮. 𝟭𝟯). Hall County Sheriff’s deputies and several other agencies are on scene. The Georgia State Patrol is working the accident. Take alternate routes.”
