11:00 A.M. THURSDAY UPDATE:
There were no serious injuries Wednesday afternoon in that two-vehicle accident in South Hall involving a private bus and a dump truck.
STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“(According to the state patrol, the call came in shortly before 1:00 to the Candler Road crash.)
…Upon arrival, the trooper determined a 1994 Mac Dump Truck was traveling north on SR60 (Candler Road). The driver, David Clark, 78, of Dacula, GA. A 2006 Ontario bus was attempting to turn left from the parking lot of 2052 Candler Road onto Sr60 (Candler Road). The driver, Luis Aleman, 50, of Gainesville, GA, failed to yield to traffic while entering the roadway and pulled out in front of the dump truck.
The dump truck was fully loaded and was unable to stop and struck the bus on the right side, causing both vehicles to travel off the roadway to the left. The dump truck rolled over onto its right side.
The driver of the dump truck was transported from the scene for treatment of non-life threating injuries.”
