The Georgia State Patrol (GSP says there were no injuries in an early morning wreck Monday on Georgia 365 north of Gainesville that tied up southbound traffic for about an hour.
GSP NARRATIVE:
“On January 8, 2024, at 6:13am, Troopers were dispatched to the area of SR 365 (Cornelia Hwy) and Kubota Way in Hall County for a motor vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles.
Upon arrival, the Trooper observed a 2021 Toyota Corolla, driven by Patricia Andreina Carrero Perez, 24, of Lawrenceville, disabled in the roadway blocking both southbound lanes of SR 365. A 2009 Scion XB was also observed to be disabled off the roadway.
During the investigation, the Trooper determined the Corolla was traveling north on SR 365 waiting to turn left onto Kubota Way. The Scion, driven by Cody Martin Sunderman, 29, of Lula, was traveling south on SR 365 approaching Kubota Way. Ms. Carrero failed to yield while turning left in front of Mr. Sunderman causing her Corolla to strike the Scion.
Ms. Carrero’s vehicle struck the left side of the Scion with its front and upon impact, caused the Scion to rotate off the roadway. No injuries were sustained in this collision. The southbound lanes of SR 365 were shut down for approximately one hour.”
