The Gainesville woman arrested earlier this week after police found her four-year-old son wandering the streets by himself at night remained in jail Saturday morning. And, according to WSB-TV, it was the second such incident here this summer.
The boy was discovered on Myrtle Street about midnight Monday.
Police say the boy’s mother, 24-year-old Magdalena Carmelo-Gomez, had left him home alone while she worked an overnight shift. She is charged with 2nd degree child cruelty and an immigration “hold” has been placed on her.
In June 24-year-old Anahi Rios was charged with reckless conduct after her toddler was found walking along Skelton Road about 6:00 a.m.
