UNG students upset over AI plans for graduation ceremony

Some students at the University of North Georgia (UNG) are upset that the school plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to read their names at the upcoming commencement ceremony.

The upset students feel that the use of AI is disrespectful and undermines the importance of the event.

Some students have launched a petition demanding a “human-to-human connection” during the ceremony.

Fox5 Atlanta reports the university defends its decision, stating that the AI technology ensures accurate pronunciation of each graduate’s name. Graduation is scheduled for May 14.
