UNG’ Shannon in Florida this week

University of North Georgia (UNG) president Mike Shannon, the sole finalist for University of North Florida (UNF) president, was in the Sunshine State this week, calling its university system the best in the country, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Shannon, UNG’s president for three years, was announced as sole finalist by a presidential search committee late last month. UNG’s Shannon sole finalist for college president in Fla.

This week’s meeting was on campus with UNF students and faculty.

Shannon will be back at the school Wednesday to meet with its board of trustees who will vote on whether to send his nomination to the university system’s Board of Governors for final approval.
