University of North Georgia (UNG) President Mike Shannon as sole finalist for the University of North Florida’s (UNF) next president. Shannon has led UNG the past three years and has seen enrollment top 20,000.
The UNF search committee conducted a five‑month nationwide search that drew 152 applicants, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. Shannon was recommended to the Board of Trustees, who will interview him and vote on his candidacy. If approved, the decision will go to the Florida Board of Governors for confirmation.
If confirmed, he would succeed Moez Limayem, who left UNF to become president of the University of South Florida.
