Traffic stop leads to drug trafficking arrests in Flowery Branch

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:

“(Early Friday morning) a Flowery Branch Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle. The vehicle was being operated by Demetrius Smith, 32, of Douglasville, Georgia, with Tommy Woodruff, 45, of Royston, Georgia, as the passenger. 

During the course of the traffic stop, officers discovered approximately 37 grams of methamphetamine, THC oil, an open container of alcohol, and various drug-related objects inside the vehicle.

As a result, both individuals were taken into custody…and transported to the Hall County Detention Center. They face the following charges: 

Demetrius Smith 

Improper Stopping 

Possession of Methamphetamine 

Trafficking Methamphetamine 

Possession of Drug-Related Objects 

Tommy Woodruff 

Possession of Methamphetamine 

Trafficking Methamphetamine 

Possession of THC Oil 

Open Container of Alcohol 

Possession of Drug-Related Objects
