Flowery Branch Police Officers conducted a traffic stop Thursday on a vehicle for a tag violation in the area of McEver Road. and ended up arresting the driver on drug-related charges and a passenger who was wanted in Gwinnett County.
FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. *FBPD) NEWS RELEASE:
The vehicle was operated by Darrell Thomas, 66, of Doraville, Georgia. During the traffic stop, officers
determined that Mr. Thomas did not possess a valid driver’s license. Further investigation revealed Mr.
Thomas was in possession of less than one ounce of suspected marijuana and multiple bags containing
small quantities of suspected methamphetamine.
Officers also discovered that a passenger in the vehicle, Gail Timms, 61, of Norcross, Georgia, was
wanted out of Gwinnett County for violation of probation.
Mr. Thomas was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Improper Display of Tag
No Driver’s License
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
Ms. Timms was turned over to Gwinnett County.”
And a spokesman for the department says a man arrested last month following what he termed at the time a “significant” drug seizure, Kyle Nathaniel Loel, 24, Decatur, is now facing more drug-related charges.
