Threads of Sacrifice: Stories from Northeast Georgia

Opening Tuesday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day is a new permanent exhibit at the Northeast Georgia History Center (NEGHC) which honors the men and women of our corner of the state who served in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War.

Through uniforms, letters, photographs, and personal stories, visitors will explore how global conflicts shaped our local community, according to the history center website.

“In honor of Veterans Day, we’re offering free admission for all veterans on November 11th,” the announcement says. “Join us as we dedicate this new space to the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of our region’s heroes.

“We are thankful to those family members who have donated time, artifacts, or given us the funding to make this exhibit happen. We can’t wait to share it with you!”
