Two suspects, one of them a juvenile, have been charged with three different property crimes that occurred in April at Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club in Flowery Branch, resulting in damages and thefts totaling around %30,000.
HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:.
“Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) determined Peyton Thomas Shane Townley, 18, and the juvenile male offender, 16, committed the crimes on April 11, April 26 and April 29.
In the first incident on April 11, the pair went to the clubhouse (pictured) on the property around 1:30 a.m., took a golf cart and drove on a section of the golf course, damaging the turf. The same offenders committed a similar crime around 1 a.m. on April 26, damaging another area of the golf course. During the course of the crimes, the two golf carts were damaged. The damage to each golf cart was estimated at $7,000 ($14,000 total), while the golf course repairs have been estimated between $14,000 and $20,000.
The third incident occurred this week, Tuesday, April 29, just before 1 a.m. when Townley and the juvenile entered the clubhouse by breaking the glass and forcing open a locked patio door. While inside the clubhouse, the pair stole an estimated $3,000 from a bank deposit bag. They also stole alcohol from the clubhouse bar.
Townley has been charged with burglary in the second degree and two counts of criminal damage to property, all felony offenses. He (remained in the Hall County Jail early Thursday afternoon). Investigators have filed a juvenile complaint against the 16-year-old offender on the same charges.”
