Planning is in full swing for this year’s Shore Sweep, an annual clean-up of Lake Lanier, sponsored by the Lake Lanier Association (LLA).
In announcing plans for the Sept. 20 event, LLA officials noted that in the 36 years of the event, Shore Sweep volunteers have removed 2.33 million pounds of trash from the lake’s shores and waters. Last year alone, more than 1,200 people hauled away 85 tons of debris.
