Texas man charged in local child sex cases

A Texas man is in the Hall County Jail without bond this week, charged in connection with a child molestation case that came to light late last year.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) jail personnel booked Jesus Hernandez, 52, of Palacios, into jail on Sunday morning, July 7, after transport from Angleton, Texas, where he waived extradition.

According to the initial details, Hernandez abused the female victim on at least two occasions, one between 2016 and 2018 and the second on Aug. 8, 2022. He committed the crimes against the victim, who is under the age of 16, at her Flowery Branch home. Hernandez knew the girl prior to the incidents.

A family member of the victim first reported the abuse to HCSO deputies on Dec. 10, 2023, after the victim disclosed it. Investigators began working on the case and obtained warrants for Hernandez’s arrest on March 13, 2024.

Hernandez remains under investigation by the HCSO.

…The criminal attempt charge is criminal attempt to commit rape. That charge and one of the molestation charges apply to Aug. 8, 2022. The other two charges, child molestation and aggravated sexual battery, apply to the earlier incident (between 2016 and 2018).”
