Tennessee man facing drug distribution charges

A Tennessee man remains in the Hall County Jail following his arrest on drug charges Friday.

During the course of a narcotics investigation, investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) found Jordan Caleb Hammontree, 34, of Newport, Tenn., in possession of both methamphetamine and fentanyl at a location on Old Athens Highway.

Investigators seized 23 grams of meth and 18 grams of fentanyl. The drugs were packaged in individual baggies for resale. Total street value of the illegal narcotics was estimated at $5,400.

Hammontree was charged with:

·         Possession of methamphetamine

·         Possession of fentanyl

·         Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

·         Possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute

Hammontree was also charged with parole violation.
